We are excited to be back for the 1st time since 2019 in our new outdoor heated pool location at Ballinakill Co Laois. We want to give juniors an opportunity to experience the sport of triathlon and aim to hold a fun, engaging environment for all junior abilities from our tots ‘splash and dash’ to our competitive teens. Where does the race take place? VMGV+MG Ballinakill, County Laois
What price is the race ? Splash and Dash are free. All other races at €10 plus €3 insurance charge.
What event rules are in place? This event is sanctioned by the governing body of triathlon in Ireland – Triathlon Ireland (TI).
Do I require a race licence? Yes, to participate, you will require a Triathlon Ireland (TI) race licence, or, a Triathlon Ireland (TI) One-Day-Membership.
Please note that ODM’s must be pre-purchased and will not be available to purchase on-site.
Is the event race times recorded? Yes all except Splash and Dash

Swim gear, hat, goggles and t /shirt or tri -suit
What supports will be available on the swim course? Strategically positioned lifeguards /Marshalls
Where are the transition areas? The transition areas are located on pool deck
Which age group must a child/youth participate in? The age group to which you are assigned is determined by your age on 31st December 2022.
For example, if you turn 12 years of age on November 1st, then you must participate in the 12-13 year old category. Please see information from World Triathlon here.
Is there a map of the swim, bike and run courses? The courses are still being finalised. Maps will be posted here as soon as they are available
