Junior Tri Laois Sunday 27th August 2023 Welcome to Junior Tri Laois located in our fabulous 30m outdoor heated pool in Ballinakill with a baby pool for our Splash and Dash. Visit Ballinakill Outdoor Swimming Pool Site We want to give juniors an opportunity to experience the sport of triathlon and aim to hold a fun, engaging environment for all junior abilities from our tots ‘splash and dash’ to our competitive teens. Splash and Dash are free
All other races at €10 plus €3 insurance charge for non -Triathlon Ireland members.
What event rules are in place?
This event is sanctioned by the governing body of triathlon in Ireland – Triathlon Ireland (TI).
Do I require a race licence?
Yes, to participate, you will require a Triathlon Ireland (TI) race licence, or, a Triathlon Ireland (TI) One-Day-Membership (€3 purchased with race fee)
Is the event race times recorded?
Yes all except Splash and Dash
I am new to triathlon – What should I know? What equipment do I need?

Swim gear, hat, goggles and t /shirt or tri -suit, runners.
What supports will be available on the swim course?
Strategically positioned lifeguards /marshals
Where are the transition areas?
The transition areas are located on pool deck
Which age group must a child/youth participate in?
The age group to which you are assigned is determined by your age on 31st December 2023.
For example, if you turn 12 years of age on November 1st, then you must participate in the 12-13 year old category.
